Gütersloh (FK) - The Gütersloh district police authority is equipping its security service with distance electro impulse devices (DEIG) from Tuesday afternoon (06.12.). After an intensive training phase, District Administrator Sven-Georg Adenauer handed over the first DEIGs to the Gütersloh, Versmold and Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock police stations. The stations in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Halle (Westf.) will follow in the coming days.
In addition to the Gütersloh district police authority, the security service in a total of 18 police authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia has been equipped with distance electro-pulse devices. As pilot authorities for testing, the police authorities in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and the Rhine-Erft district have already been equipped with the devices in the security service since the beginning of 2021.
